We made a classic stocking and gave it a modern twist by using polka dot felt.
Create a pattern to get the exact shape you want. Draw a stocking shape on brown craft paper or a paper bag and then cut it out.
Fold the burlap fabric in half, pretty side to pretty side, and place the stocking paper pattern on top. Trace the pattern onto the fabric using the fabric pen.
Remove the pattern and pin the fabric together. Cut the shape halfway through both layers.
Sew a half-inch seam around the edge of the stocking, leaving the top open. Remember to backup stich at the beginning and at the end.
Cut a rectangle from the cuff fabric that is twice the width of the stocking from the inside out and twice as wide as you want, plus an extra inch for seams.
Fold the bracelet from pretty side to pretty side so that the short ends touch. Sew a half-inch seam, then turn it in the middle to the right side so you have a bracelet that's the width you want and pretty on both sides.
Slide the cuff around the outside of the stocking inside out with the folded edge facing down and the rough edges aligned around the opening. Sew all the way around the opening.
Create a loop to hang the stocking with a two-inch piece of ribbon. Glue the bow to the inside of the stocking.
Turn the stocking to the right and fold the cuff.
