This finished stocking measures 19"h x 12"w. If you want a smaller mean, simply scale the pattern when printing to the desired size (70%, 80%, 90%, etc.). Download and print pattern.
Cut out your fabric using the pattern pieces. Cut two mirror images for the outside of the stocking, two mirror images for the lining, and one piece for the loop.
Cut a rectangular piece of knit fabric for the fringe. If you want more fringe, cut two fringe pattern pieces and duplicate them.
Following the pattern instructions, use scissors or a rotary cutter to cut long slits in the fabric leaving the top inch untouched.
Place two pieces of siding together on the right and pin around the side edges. Leave the top open, as well as a 5" slit along the back edge. Sew the two pieces together. Trim the seam allowance.
Place two outer pieces of stocking right together and pin around the side edges. Leave the top open and sew. Trim the seam allowance.
Fold the fringe in half, matching the top side edge. Pin the top 1" edge together at the side edge and sew.
Turn the outer stocking clockwise and pull out all the edges. Slide the fringe around the top of the stocking and pin the top edge in place. Sew 1/8" from the top edge to secure.
Fold the storage loop in the middle of the right sides together and pin the long side edge and sew. Use a safety pin to rotate the storage loop tube clockwise and press.
Match the bottom raw edges of your storage loop, creating the actual loop. Pin the raw edges to the top back edge of the outer stocking. Sew 1/8" from the top edge to secure.
Slide the liner inside out, around the outer right side sock, matching all seams. Make sure all the fringes and the bow are inside the stocking. Pin around the top edge and sew.
Turn the stocking right side out through the opening in the lining. Closed whip liner opening. Push the inner lining of the stocking and press.
