Contents
- 200 g of soda crystals
- 200g table salt (or kosher salt)
- 200 g baking soda
- 180 ml lemon juice
- 2 mini muffin cups
- 1 large bowl
- 1 airtight jar
- 1 wooden spoon
Preparation: 3 mins - Cooking: 0 min - For 48 tablets
1. Put the soda crystals, salt and baking soda in the bowl.
2. Mix these ingredients with the wooden spoon.
3. Add the lemon juice while mixing. If it foams, it's normal.
4. Keep mixing everything for a minute.
5. Pour the mixture into the molds using a spoon.
6. Pack the mixture very hard into the mold to form your tablets.
7. Let the tablets cure completely for at least one night.
8. Take them out of the mold and keep them in the airtight jar.
And There you go ! Your economical dishwashing detergent tablets are already ready :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
Now you know how to save 5 times the price of tablets!
It's still much cheaper than buying Finish or Sun tablets in your supermarket (Carrefour, Auchan, Leclerc...).
These tablets adapt perfectly to the compartment of your dishwasher.
All you have to do is put a small block of mixing in the detergent compartment of the dishwasher...
...and start your program as usual.
I can assure you that all the dishes come out spotless thanks to these DIY tablets!
Obviously, this 100% natural recipe is zero waste and contains no phosphate.
While we are talking about uses, know that dishwasher tablets have plenty of other amazing uses.
This formula eliminates all the white traces that we can have on the glasses without using citric acid.
These 4 natural ingredients work miracles:salt and lemon fight against limescale while preventing dullness from settling.
And the baking soda and soda crystals clean and sanitize the dishes.
Also consider adding white vinegar to the rinse aid compartment of your dishwasher to enhance the action of these DIY tablets.
If your water is very calcareous, you can try adding 1/2 tablet more.
If on the contrary your water is soft, you can try to put only 1/2 tablet. It's up to you to test!
I tested several molds including the ice cube trays, but the tablets were too big for the detergent compartment.
So, I found a silicone candy mold to be the most suitable.
So I use this chocolate mold which allows you to make 24 pastilles.
And as it is sold by 2, that gives me a good stock of 48 pellets!
