On a flat, level surface, use colored markers to draw landscapes freehand on an art canvas.
While many different types of landscapes work well (such as cityscapes, front yards, and even fire pits), large graphic trees are often the easiest to draw, giving guests the opportunity to get creative by using their fingerprints as leaves and birds. TIP:To keep the login from getting too busy, use a neutral color marker like black, dark brown, gray, or navy.
The color for the setting will come from the guests' fingerprints, and therefore it is important to limit the ink pads to no more than three colors. Otherwise, the final look can end up unbalanced and messy. A great combination to stick with is a dark color, a bright color, and a medium to dark neutral. In addition to ink pads, also supply guests with colored pens placed inside containers. They will use the pens to write their names. NOTE:While the leaves and/or birds created by the fingerprints play an important role in the color scheme of the art piece, the signatures are much smaller and therefore a wider range of colors can be used ..
Place the drawing canvas on a flat, level surface next to the open ink pads, inviting friends to instantly make their mark on the drawing. Include some baby wipes so guests can wipe ink off their fingers.
Encourage guests to randomly leave their fingerprints in different areas of the sketch. If all guests place their fingerprints within the same area of the art board, the overall look can appear uneven and unfinished.
When each guest has left an impression of their thumbprint on the art piece, have them sign their name directly next to their impression with colored pens. At the end of the event, place the completed art piece in the frame and hang.
