Kids can make a mess wherever they go, in seconds. Celebrate their carefree attitude by dressing them up as what you sometimes think they are.
Use the template to cut out the fabric for the body.
Place the back pieces on top of the front piece, wrong sides together. The back pieces should overlap in the middle.
Sew 1/2" side seams and shoulder seams.
Try on your wearer's body and mark where to attach the hook and eye fasteners on the back of the suit. We used three 2” pieces. When you're ready, sew on the fasteners.
Place a piece of painter's tape on the back of each china piece; trim it to fit the base of the circle. Then place a (rough) Hook of Sticky Back Velcro over the painter's tape. (The tape will allow you to easily remove the fasteners so you can reuse the tea set after Halloween.)
Lay the body front side up on a table and lay out where to put the porcelain pieces. Make sure to position them so the user doesn't sit on them or hit them with their arms.
Hand sew the teacup handles onto the body.
Sew loop (soft) pieces of Velcro fasteners onto the body where the plates will go. Attach plates securely.
Cut out four horn pieces using the printable horns template. Each finished horn size is 5" tall x 7" wide. Adjust your template as needed before cutting to fit the wearer's head.
Lay the front and back speaker pieces right sides together. Sew 1/4" seams on two sides, leaving the bottom open. Repeat for the other horn.
Turn the horns to the right, use a pencil if necessary to help push the tip out. Add stuffing to horn until firm. Repeat for the other horn.
Wrap the unstitched bottom of the speaker around the headband. Hand sew the horn around the headband.
Cut the bull's girdle out of brown felt and sew it around the middle of the horns.
To make the tail, wrap black yarn to make a 6" loop. (We used a large ruler to make it easier.) Slide a piece of yarn through the loop at one end and tie securely.
Cut through the other side to create a thick tassel-like tail.
Cut the tail pattern piece out of brown felt. Attach a few strands of yarn to the tail with the rest of the tail hanging off the end. Sew the threads to the end of the felt tail to secure.
Fold the tail in half, wrong sides together and edge stitch. Leave the ending open.
Flatten the tail so that the seam is at the back and fill it with loose fill. Sew the tail closed and then sew the tail to the back of the suit.
To make the hooves, use the pattern to cut two hooves out of black felt to cover the tops of the shoes.
Wrap the helmets around the shoes and pin to fit. Sew hook-and-loop fasteners to the helmets to secure.
Dress the wearer in a brown t-shirt, brown pants and shoes and add the bull costume on top.
