Use your tomato cages in the winter by transforming them into Christmas decorations. A small cage makes a great centerpiece; Two larger cages can be used to flank an outside door. This project costs very little and you can put the tomato cages back in your garden shed after the holidays.
Depending on the size you want for your tree, you may want to cut the cage rings to make it thinner.
Push the cage on itself to make it slimmer. Wrap the new edges with wire so that the new size is secure. Cut off excess wire.
Wrap the wire in all directions through the cage.
Spray the entire cage liberally with tack spray, then spray with glitter.
Wrap garland around the cage.
Add embellishments, preferably items that shimmer and reflect light.
Place the candles on a plate or wooden board cut to size. Light the candles, then place the tree on top.
