Step 4:Insert the candle into the center of the gears.

Choose gears of suitable size

In order for the gear votive holder to align proportionally with the candles it contains, you must pay attention to proper size and scale. Stick with gears between 2-1/2 inches and 6-1/2 inches in diameter. Because the gears will be layered with a pyramid effect, using multiple gears that differ by 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch in diameter will result in a balanced, stacked look.

Wipe off excess oil

Before assembling gears, wipe off excess oil and debris with a damp cloth or paper towel.

Step 3

Step 3a:Stack gears and glue them together.

Apply glue and stack

Allow a full day for the glue to cure before inserting and lighting the votive candle.

Insert votive candle

After the glue has cured properly and the stacked gears have adhered, place the votive candle into the top gear hole.
