I love using natural materials for crafts. In fact, I only really grow okra so I can make them into decorations for Halloween and Christmas. Pumpkins also make useful blank popsicles that can be turned into fun, festive decorations.

Apply two coats of white paint over the dried gourds and okra. Let the paint dry between coats.

Esty is a good place to find dried pumpkins and okra pods if you don't grow your own. Try shopping for fun and novel ways to vary the look of your little ghosts.

Once the white paint dries, paint large eyes and a mouth on the pumpkins. Try flipping the pumpkins upside down to change the look of the ghost's shape.

Okra can be a bit tricky to paint a face on, keep turning it until you see a flat space between the ridges.

When you're done painting, drill a small hole through the stem area of the okra. Thread a piece of fishing line through the pod so you can hang it.

The fishing line will make it look like the little ghosts are floating in the air.

Viewing Tip:To help the pumpkin ghost (if you choose to flip it over) sit up straight, nestle the stem side into a vase or bowl.
