Gather the pumpkins on a tarp and arrange them the way you want the faux fire to look. When you have them in place, place a dot on the pumpkins where you want the llama to go.
Use a pencil to draw the flames on the sides of the pumpkins. Don't draw them all the way down or all the way up.
Use a carving knife or special gourd knife to cut through the flames.
After carving, carefully remove the flames.
Realign the pumpkins at your campfire location. If you're using foam pumpkins, you may need to add some rocks or weight to the bottom so they don't slide around while you place the rest of the pumpkins on top.

When you're ready for your Halloween gathering, add battery-operated tea lights and glow sticks to the inside of the pumpkins. You will need at least 3 to 6 per pumpkin. Wait until dark to see it light up like a real bonfire.
