Tropical orchids can be expensive; Here's a handmade option for those who love these flowers but don't want to spend all that money.
Print the orchid petals in PDF on the main color of the paper, the center of the orchid on the second color paper, and the leaf template on the green paper. Cut out the two sets of petals, a central one and two leaves for each flower.
Use the edge of the scissors to crimp each petal and center arm. Fold the sheets in half. Curl each petal again in the other direction to form a cup with each one. Curl both sides of your sheets.
With the larger piece of the three petals pointing up, glue the two-piece petal in the center and the center piece on top of the two layers of petals.
Turn the flower over and glue the two leaves to the back.
To make a hair clip, corsage, or gift decoration, glue the clip to the back of the flower. For the wrist corsage, glue a ribbon long enough to tie around your wrist or an elastic band to the back of the flower.
For an orchid on a stem, bend the end of a piece of 22-gauge wire at an angle. Cut a small leaf-shaped piece, making a one-third slit in the center, and slip the corner of the wire into that crease. Glue the petal and wire to the back of the orchid.
Use your finished orchids to finish off a gift, make a bouquet, or wear on your sweater or in your hair.
These paper sculpture orchids could make a wonderful wedding bouquet or decoration.
