Origami flowers are a great project for a craft party, Girl Scout meeting, bridal shower, or just because they're fun and pretty to look at.
Download the rose template then the leaf template. Print the templates and then cut out the numbered petals and leaves.
Use the edge of the scissors to curl the two corners of each petal.
Stick the tabs on petals 4-7, pinch them together to create a cone shape.
For the long stem rose you will need a floral wire. Fold the end back about an inch. Glue the edge of petal #1 to the bent part of the wire.
Wrap petal #1 around the wire to create a spiral and fold the corner back in.
Glue petal #2 onto the wire and wrap it around petal #1, folding the corners back. Finish off the center of the rose by gluing petal #3 onto the wire, again folding the corners back to create a petal shape.
Pin the centers of petals #4 to #7 onto floral wire. Add glue to the bottom of the center and twist each section as it joins the center to stagger the petals.
When placement is complete, adjust the rotation of the petals for a more natural look.
Starting at the base of the rose, wrap the floral tape around the wire. Gently pull on the tape to activate the stickiness of the tape.
Cut out the sheet, fold in half, and use scissors to crimp both sides.
Attach the leaf to the floral wire with a dab of glue, and then enclose it with floral tape as you wrap the stem.
Finish wrapping the stem with floral tape. Bend and adjust the wire to show pink.
To make a head piece, you'll need a hair clip that has a surface that sticks easily to the rose.
To make a corsage, use two very strong magnets or a jewelry clasp to attach to clothing.
