This easy to make wreath took little time and money. Reclaimed chicken wire was used to create petals around the crown. Then we dress up the crown with feathers and birds, but you can dress it up with just about anything.
wire cutters
heavy duty stapler
glue gun
hammer
reclaimed chicken wire
Flat Wood Wreath Shape (12 or 6 inches)
feathers
artisan chickens
white spray paint
22 gauge floral wire
Spray the wooden ring and let it dry..
Cut chicken wire into wide strips with wire cutters. Make the strips long enough (about 12 to 14 inches) so you can fold them into large U-shaped petals.
Twist the strips so they are almost like a ribbon.
Staple the petal-shaped strips around the wooden wreath shape. If necessary, use a hammer to secure the staples.
Around the inside of the wreath, over the bottom of the petals, wrap a twisted ribbon of chicken wire and staple to the wooden form. Secure with a hammer.
Spray-paint the entire crown.
Insert the feathers into the chicken wire. You can glue them to make sure they are secure.
Arrange the chickens around the bottom and secure with floral wire.
