Apply a coat of glass etching cream to a collection of clean mason jars. For the most intense result of the etching cream, allow the cream to dry in a well-ventilated area for 12 hours.
While the etching cream dries, draw the silhouette of a skyline across an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of paper with a self-adhesive backing. Make it unique or draw the skyline of your favorite city. Use a utility blade like an X-Acto blade to cut out the shape.
Cut out the windows and doors on the horizon with the thin blade.
If you find it difficult to place a full sheet of contact paper, you can also create your skyline using plain paper. As such, you would use a spray adhesive to mount the plain paper to the glass jar.
Once enough time has passed, clean the dried etching cream from the glass jars with an abrasive scouring pad and water. The underlying result will be beautifully frosted glass.
Place the individual profiles around the base of each jar. The self-adhesive paper will set immediately and is ready to use, but if you are using a spray adhesive product to set the skyline, allow the adhesive to dry in a well-ventilated area for several hours.
