Use a craft knife or small saw to cut one of the letters in half. Depending on the size of your planter, you may need to trim the piece in the center.

Use hot glue to join the two cut pieces to the sides of the intact letter H. This will create the base of the plant stand.

Start at the bottom of one leg to cover the plant support with yarn. Roll up the thread and hot glue it on.

Continue moving up one leg of the plant until you reach the center. Trim and glue the ends.

The center can be wrapped a couple of different ways. It can be crisscrossed for a little extra stability keeping all the pieces together. Another option, as seen in this DIY mid-century modern-inspired plant stand, is to wrap the center section first, then wrap each leg from top to center.

Continue until the entire plant support is covered with twine and none of the papier-mâché is showing.
