When planting seeds, it is important that they are well spaced and aligned.
The problem is that some seeds are very small and difficult to space well.
This is the case with carrots, lettuce or leeks for example.
Result, either they stick to each other, or they scatter everywhere...
No need to buy seed ribbons though!
You can make them yourself easily with paper toilet . Look, it's quite simple:
Contents
1. Unroll a strip of toilet paper on a table.
2. Dampen it with a spray bottle filled with water.
3. Respect the spacing between each seed as indicated on the packets. Help yourself with a ruler and a pen to make marks.
4. Place the seeds in the middle of the paper at each mark.
5. Fold the toilet paper in thirds lengthwise. Fold one side first, then the other to cover the seeds.
6. Lightly press the paper to stick it and prevent the seeds from escaping.
7. Note the name of the seeds planted on the toilet paper.
8. Carefully transport the ribbon in the garden.
9. Lightly dig the soil in the desired location.
10. Lay the seed ribbon in it and cover it with soil.
And There you go ! Now you know how to make a homemade seed ribbon out of toilet paper :-)
Easy, fast and cheap, right?
The small, light seeds are perfectly spaced thanks to the sowing tape!
Much more practical for planting your vegetables in a vegetable patch, or for a modern design in your vegetable or flower garden.
It also works on a square sheet of paper towel.
To easily transport the seeds to the vegetable garden, you can roll the strips of paper around an empty toilet paper roll:
You can also mix species on your ribbons.
For example, carrots and radishes go very well together.
To do this, simply alternate the seeds on the toilet paper.
