The base of most borax-free slime recipes includes glue, baking soda, and saline. Depending on the look you want, you can use clear gel glue or opaque white glue.

For smooth slime, mix 4oz. of glue, 1/2 TBSP baking soda, and 1 TBSP contact lens solution. If your glue is colorless, you can also add food coloring and glitter. Mix it well.

The more you mix the slime, the more it will set. If it's too dry, a little more contact lens solution will help. On the other hand, if it's too wet, add a little more baking soda.

Another fun option is to make chalkboard slime. This is great for drawing creepy monster faces and jack o' lanterns in slime. Use the same ingredients, but this time use white glue and add 2 TBSP of chalkboard paint.

Make an extra batch to put out at small takeout restaurants and then give out on Halloween as a candy-free alternative. Add a googly eye to make it creepier. Children and parents will thank you! Don't forget to make a batch of glow in the dark chalk and Crayon Bones too!
