What you need

- scissors

- Bristol paper or other card stock

Step 1

How to Make an Adorable Little Bird with Yarn Scraps.

Prepare 2 pieces of bristol paper and cut them to about 4-5cm in width.

Then cut them to the right length:one piece at 10 cm and the second at 12 cm in length.

Note that you can modify these dimensions according to the desired size of your little bird.

Use a light colored yarn for the underside of the bird (10 cm), a wool of darker color for the top (12 cm) and a mix of matching colors for the wings and the sides (10 cm).

Wrap the yarn around the pieces of bristol paper lengthwise , as in the photo above.

Continue to roll up your leftover yarn, until each ball is 1cm thick.

Holding your balls in place on the bristol paper, cut one of their ends. There you go, now you know how to cut the little pieces of yarn to the right length!

Start by cutting the group of wool wrapped around the 10 cm piece of paper.

Finally, tie a knot in the middle of the group of woolen threads, as in the photo above.

Step 2

How to Make an Adorable Little Bird with Yarn Scraps.

Prepare the group of wool cut to 10 cm in length (the light colored one, for the underside of the bird) and spread it flat .

Next, prepare the wool group cut to 12 cm (the dark one, for the top of the bird). Place it perpendicular to the first group, in order to form a cross as in the photo above.

Fold each wool group in half, outward.

Finally, tie a knot just off the center , to tightly tighten the groups folded in half.

For best results, remember to use thread of the same color as each group.

Step 3

Now prepare the wool group of matching colors (the one for the wings).

Cut the wool to the correct length, fold it in half and tie a knot in the middle.

Add yarn of matching colors to the other two groups, tying a knot just off the center , exactly as in the previous step.

Step 4

Prepare half a sheet of paper (A4 size).

Roll the paper into a tight little ball. Know that the size of your little bird depends on the size of this ball.

Put the ball of paper in the middle of the different groups of wool.

Then, pull the ends of each group upwards, so as to tighten the ball well inside.

Step 5

Take a wool yarn in the color of your choice.

Use this thread to make a knot, so as to unite the 3 groups in one.

With your scissors, equalize the ends woolen threads.

Step 6

Use your pliers to shape the wire in small bird's feet.

For the beak, fold a piece of bristol paper orange in small cone.

And finally, use 2 old black plastic beads of the same size to make the eyes of the plush.

Step 7

You can sew on your bird's eyes with a needle and black thread, or simply attach them with multi-purpose glue.

And now, to fix the legs:bend the ends of the wire in the shape of small hooks and insert them below of your plush.

And finally, the final touch, use some multi-purpose glue to attach the beak to your little homemade stuffed animal!
