Yes, homemade artificial snow is possible!
Plus, it's super easy...and non-toxic!
Here is the magic recipe for making artificial snow at home . Watch:
- 500 g baking soda
- shaving foam (preferably organic and unscented)
- 2 drops of lavender essential oil
- a salad bowl
1. Pour the baking soda into the bowl.
2. Add a good handful of shaving foam.
3. Knead your dough to make snow.
There you go, you have made your own artificial snow :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
You will see, the snow forms almost immediately. It's magic!
Of course, you can let the children help you.
It's a great activity to do with children, from 2 or 3 years old.
Let them pour the baking soda into the container, then knead the mixture.
They will love making their own snow!
Be careful, this artificial snow is much less toxic than industrial artificial snow.
But since we use shaving foam, children should not swallow it. It is not edible.
But the salty taste of baking soda should quickly dissuade them;-)
At first, just add a little shaving foam and increase the amount until you get the desired texture.

Kids can also just play with it and form little snowmen with their hands or some molds (you know the ones we use at the beach).
To do this, spread a blanket or plastic sheet on the floor.
