This DIY Halloween costume is perfect if you're short on time and money. It will take less than an hour to make and will cost a few dollars in materials.
Measure around your dog's head and add 5". Cut the fleece to that length and 4-1/2" wide. To create the bows, fold the fleece in half lengthwise and trim the fabric equally on each side. Leave approximately 3-1/2" uncut from the edge of the fold (7" total when unfolded) at the full 4-1/2" width and then taper down to create 1" wide seams as shown. sample.
Optional:This costume looks more fun without ears, but if your dog has ears that stick out, or would be more comfortable with ear holes, simply try on the headband at the mark (right side down) where the ears are and cut the slits.
Create teeth by cutting zigzags in the top half of a 2" x 7" piece of felt.
Attach the felt teeth to the bottom of the fleece and secure with hot glue.
Create eyes by marking a large X on each ping-pong ball.
Line up the eyes on the front half of the headband. Secure with hot glue.
Now simply strap on your pup's chin, and he's ready to rock the Monster Mash!
