How to make a macrame Halloween wall hanging

hNo needles or hooks are required for this spooky yarn project. Learn how to create an amazing macrame wall hanging perfect for Halloween with minimal knot knowledge. A project so easy you'll be able to get it up and hanging on your walls in just an afternoon.

Materials of

• macrame hoop (or embroidery hoop)
• thick thread
• scissors
• craft felt
• Silicone gun

Step 1:Holding three strands of yarn together, cut to twice the length you want your finished piece to be. Tie the thread at the top of the hoop using the larks head knot as follows:

• 1a. Fold the strands in half to form a loop; slip loop under hoop.
• 1b. Feed the tails over the top of the hoop and through the loop.
• 1c. Pull to close the knot. Now you are going to see how a bundle of threads hangs.

Repeat this process at the top of the hoop until you are satisfied with the coverage.

Step 2 – Tie the individual hanging bunches to the bottom of the hoop using the half hitch knot as follows:

• 2a. Wrap the bundle of yarn over and around the bottom of the hoop.
• 2b. Sense queues through loop creation wrapping..
• 2c. Pull to close the knot.

Step 3 – Tie an additional piece of hanging string to the top of the hoop. Trim the strands hanging from the bottom to level them.

Step 4:Cut the eyes and mouth out of craft felt. Hot glue to the face of the thread.

The instructions are written for the ghost. To make the jack-o-lantern, simply swap the yarn colors and use green ribbon instead of yarn for the hanger. Experiment using another macrame knot on top of the gourd. The Square Knot was used in the DIY This With Jennifer Perkins episode.
