Materials of

Step 1:Holding three strands of yarn together, cut to twice the length you want your finished piece to be. Tie the thread at the top of the hoop using the larks head knot as follows:
Repeat this process at the top of the hoop until you are satisfied with the coverage.

Step 2 – Tie the individual hanging bunches to the bottom of the hoop using the half hitch knot as follows:

Step 3 – Tie an additional piece of hanging string to the top of the hoop. Trim the strands hanging from the bottom to level them.

Step 4:Cut the eyes and mouth out of craft felt. Hot glue to the face of the thread.

The instructions are written for the ghost. To make the jack-o-lantern, simply swap the yarn colors and use green ribbon instead of yarn for the hanger. Experiment using another macrame knot on top of the gourd. The Square Knot was used in the DIY This With Jennifer Perkins episode.
