Question from a user:I am trying to save tomato seeds, harvested directly from the fruit, how to ensure that they are of good quality after their storage and thus allow new plants to succeed.C he is an ancient breed of tomato that an old grandpa introduced me to, we don't know the name but they can be very large (1 kg) and have generous flesh with few seeds! do you have a particular conservation method (newspaper, quick drying, light ??? I would like to grow them next spring! thank you in advance
Hi grandma catou,
To harvest tomato seeds, nothing could be simpler.
Let ripen the fruit as much as possible
Spread it on a good layer of toweling paper, after crushing it gently
Let it dry
In the spring, lay the paper towel flat on a layer of potting soil in a terrine and cover lightly.
The sowing is done
There you go, that will give you three seeds...
