* We all have it:one of those boring corners in the house that you can't really do anything with. And that's a shame, because with a few tips you can make something cozy out of this empty corner and make good use of the space. As an interior consultant I regularly help my clients with styling a bare space in the living room. I also have a number of tips for you to decorate an empty corner in an attractive way.
Today I have another nice guest blog for you. This time it's Ilse's turn from the blog intertiortwin.com. She gives you tips on how to make a forgotten corner in the house more cozy. Ilse is a young woman who is crazy about everything that has to do with the interior. As a young girl she was already busy decorating her bedroom. She is now an adult and has turned her passion into her profession. On her blog she shares all kinds of tips and advice in the field of furnishing. The tips below fit in perfectly with my budget makeover for a cozy living room.
Before you start decorating and styling, you should first think about what you want with the empty space. Do you want an extra seat to enjoy reading? A workplace to also be able to work in the living room? Extra storage space? Or a corner for the children to play?
Have you thought about what you want to do with the corner? Then choose the larger furniture first. A chair, a cupboard or something else:you will style the corner around this
To make it cozy in the empty corner, it is important that you use the space well. So go ahead with styling. A beautiful poster, a hanging plant or a beautiful lamp ensure that it looks cozy.
Create atmosphere by alternating different materials and structures. For example, combine warm wood with sleek metal. Or a pillow with pompoms on a leather chair.
Unless you like a monochromatic interior, it's good to add color to a boring corner. With color you create a lot of atmosphere in one go. You can paint the entire wall, but also a paneling or circle or flat on the wall provide a cozy corner.
You can make this corner completely cozy with home accessories. Choose home accessories in the color and style of the other things in the corner. A beautiful poster, attractive candlestick, sturdy plant pot or soft plaid are great accessories to style a corner.
With these tips, that boring corner in the house becomes attractive and cozy. Are you looking for even more home inspiration? On InteriorTwin.com I share living inspiration, interior tips, DIYs, interior views and more.
Love,
Ilse – InteriorTwin
