An original coffee table at a reasonable price is possible , an original recycled coffee table at a lower cost is when you want! Recycle a wooden reel.
My cheap coffee table having recently given up the ghost from wear and tear, I went looking for something a little more original and above all solid . After a great tour of the big signs the idea came to me that the old is often more solid. I ended up finding an authentic wooden reel to my hardware store who was trying to get rid of it.
It's all about finding the right reel of the size that suits us, reels being wooden reels around which cables and chains of all kinds are wound, there are of any size and of any diameter.
I went to the flea market from the porte saint ouen and I found a reel for 20€. I saw a few, if you don't live far away it might be worth it. If not, maybe ask your hardware store to tell you where to find one near you, there is indeed a small factory nearby who will give it to you gift !
I then gave it a sanding coarse to erase the few imperfections of the reel. I used a regular sander that I have at home, but if you don't have one, any good self-respecting neighbor will lend you one, or rent it on Zilok. Add to that a lick of paint on the beloved spool and give your living room a modern rustic vibe . And the trick remains customizable , a flower pot can be slipped inside the spindle of the reel, or the latter with a little extra tinkering can even accommodate a bar or transform in storage.
