I recover the cooking water of my vegetables and use it to water indoor plants or those on my balcony. I save water and the nutrients contained in this cooking water fertilize my plants.
I noticed it quickly:their color is greener. They have this shiny appearance that reveals their good health and sets them apart from the plants that I see in my neighbors.
Wait until the cooking water has cooled before watering your plants:this is probably obvious but better safe than sorry.
The nutrients contained in eggshells are also perfectly suited to enrich the soil with minerals. So don't hesitate to recover the cooking water for your eggs hard, soft or poached to water your plants.
For an even better fertilizer, you can even add the shells in the water from the watering can and let them macerate for a few hours before watering. By leaving them at the bottom of the watering can, they will serve you every time you use them.
Another tip, for those who have an aquarium or a bowl with fish, is to use this waste water to feed your plants.
It is a great natural fertilizer because your little fish will have enriched it with phosphorus and nitrogen. Perfect for green plants!
