With the trend towards metallics, gold polka dots seem to be all the rage, and fabric printing is an easy and inexpensive way to get this look.

Insert a piece of aluminum foil in the middle of the monkey, make sure it is the same width as yours. Keep the foil nice and flat.

Prepare the paint. A sturdy paper plate makes a great paint palette. Dab the circle sponge into the paint and really allow the sponge to soak up the paint. This may require more paint.
Use the circular sponge to apply the paint on the monkey. Use a gentle but firm push. Do not move the sponge around when applying. Simply press down on one spot and remove the sponge.
If your paint circle is too textured, use a brush to gently brush away the texture until you have nice smooth circles.
Let the paint dry completely for 4 to 6 hours. A hair dryer can speed up the process. Flip to the other side and repeat the process. Remove foil when done.
For a little more sparkle, add some gold bows using metallic ribbon.
If you're working with a tank top, simply tie the bows directly to the straps and you're good to go. If you're working in a short-sleeved jumpsuit, make the bow as you normally would. Then use a thread and needle to make a few stitches along the center back of the bow towards the front of the jumpsuit in several stitches to secure.
