Lay the scarf out on your work surface. Lay a yard stick or straight edge diagonally across the scarf.
Cut the scarf into four equal triangles..
Place a pretty face triangle on your work surface. Fold the two corners in toward the middle so they just barely overlap.
Flip the scarf over, folding the new outer ends in toward the center until they touch each other. Pin the pleats in place.
If you are using a ribbon, place each folded piece of bandana fabric over half the height of the ribbon, then fold the ribbon over the bandana and snap the pin into place. If you're using duct tape or bias tape, place the bandana in the fold of the tape and pin it in place. Arrange the rest of the folded scarves in a nice pattern across the ribbon.
Sew the entire length of the ribbon, even between the scarves to maintain a straight line (Image 1). Whether it's a permanent decoration or a party accent, a recycled bandana strand is sure to give your room a festive touch (Image 2).
