Silver painted PVC pipes make this bed frame look like metal. Twine is threaded between the pipes and then clothespins are used to display old postcards. This is a great headboard for the children's room. -They could hang their illustrations, photos or their favorite paperback books..

Determine the size of the header (ours is a queen), then cut the pieces of PVC pipe with a miter saw or PVC cutter. Here are the dimensions for a queen bed:
Lay out the pieces (Image 1), then dry fit them with the connectors to make sure they fit. When you're ready, use the PVC primer (purple, picture 2) and then the PVC cement, and press the pieces together. Use a level to make sure you have them straight before letting the pieces dry.
We needed to use an adapter on the inside of the plumbing floor flange because it was larger than the PVC pipe (Image 3).
It helps to have two people when putting the whole thing together. Again, make sure everything is level before letting it dry. Cover everything with the PVC primer (purple). This will help the paint adhere to the piece.
Spray the headboard with silver hammered paint to give it a metallic look. You can also try it in black. Let dry. Turn the headboard and do the other side.
Take a roll of yarn and wrap it around the bed frame in various positions. Keep it steady. Add clips with postcards and other fun keepsakes.
