This is a great way to recycle a broken rake that can't be used. We use a metal rake, but also a plastic or bamboo rake.
Remove the rake head from the handle, spray paint on both sides and let dry.
Add your longest foliage elements by threading them through the tines of the rake.
Tuck the leaves into the base of the rake.
Keep adding elements until you are satisfied with the design. Group items in groups of three and arrange them asymmetrically for a natural-looking arrangement.
Use small twists of wire to secure branches to rake teeth.
Trim all ends of branches sticking out of the rake.
Tie the burlap ribbon or string around the base of the rake.
Take a piece of wire about 5” long and use it to create a loop for hanging. Place it under the cross bar that holds the rake teeth and twist into a loop.
Hang your rake from a nail or wreath hook and celebrate fall in style!
