After you've installed a two-tone bamboo floor, you'll likely have pieces left over. Recycle those leftovers and make this modern chandelier. Watch the video to learn how.
Cut a piece of plywood for the base.
You can leave the plywood larger than your finished base.
Nail a first row of dark bamboo along one edge. Add two darker rows, touching and nailing them together, making staggered joints like you would on a floor.
Remove extra plywood, if any, using a saw.
Light soil nail on the sides.
At the bottom, mark and drill holes in a random pattern to hang light bulbs. Run electrical wires through holes in a box at the back.
Wire the wires together in a single circuit using wire nuts. Tie the wires to the desired length, but leave enough to change the height of the bulbs after you see how they look.
Locate a ceiling stud and insert two heavy hooks. Hang the accessory with heavy picture wire through the hooks.
Screw in Edison-style bulbs, which give the fixture a modern vintage vibe.
