These little figures sculpted in stone, ceramic or plastic have invaded gardens as decoration. At first, these figurines were only found in Germany before being imported all over Europe. In fact, legend has it that Man imagined nature populated by mysterious little beings, whether Scandinavian trolls, goblins or korrigans. The latter hide in caves, mounds or in the shelter of a tree trunk in order to commit acts filled with kindness according to beliefs. So, today's garden gnomes are the descendants of these remnants of a past that is still very present, but some people really consider these figurines as living beings.
