This week I already showed you in a blog how the conversion of our barn into an office went. Now I would like to highlight one more item that I have not yet specifically mentioned. My new Cube Lamps on the wall! I spotted them on the website Cube lamps, part of SPEKTAKEL in Amersfoort and fell in love immediately. My preference for separate lamps, such as the monkey lamp that we have in the room, is further fueled with this vintage wall lamp.
The model of the wall lamp is very simple and reminded me of the past (I believe my parents had such a ceiling lamp). The Cube Lamps are made of glass and are traditionally hand blown. With this vintage wall lamp you not only have an eye-catcher, but you can also give a kind of message through the letters or symbols that you can have on the lamp. The possibilities are therefore endless! In the future I think it would be nice to have another lamp like this in the toilet, for example with a male and female on it or something, or in the kitchen with cutlery on it. Super cool.
For now, however, I was looking for something in the office that would emphasize that this space is not only for working, but also for inspiring, motivating and having fun. Well, I had to think about that for a while! Because what word has all that in it? First I came upon Inspire. Also very beautiful, but 7 letters long and given that this vintage wall lamp is 23.5 centimeters wide (per lamp) and you also want to hang them a bit apart, that was too wide. In addition, it does not fully cover the load.
In the end it became MOJO. The meaning of MOJO can be found below:

To emphasize the vintage look even more, I chose soft yellow light and the Bauhaus font. I also thought it could be applied nicely, because the walls in our office are just white and this yellow light gives a nice warm glow. But if you have, for example, a black wall as a background (or any other color on the wall), such a Cube Lamp with white light is also very beautiful.
Hanging these lamps is not very difficult in itself. If you have several lamps that form a word (like us), Jeroen van SPEKTAKEL will ensure that these lamps are connected and that the first or last letter has a starting plug. Then it's just a matter of hanging it up nicely.
We have measured the mutual distance of the holes in the mounting material of the lamp. Take a long batten where we marked this on (including the intermediate distance of the lamps themselves) and from that batten marked it level on the wall where we had to drill. This way you have all the distances right on the wall in one go and you can't go wrong.
I would have liked the cable to the plug in a black and white variant, you know such an iron wire. Unfortunately the one I bought is 2 wire and we need a 3 wire cable for this. I will replace this one at a later time. I would also like to make a conversion over the radiator and hang something nice on the wall and then the cow chair can 'go'.
