Buy such a wonderfully thick and natural sheepskin for your home. Completely the trend of now and very cozy for the winter days. I found such a sheepskin on Instagram and fell in love with Frankes Furs. Well, not on Franke's furs themselves , but on the furs of 'her' sheep. If you are looking for a nice felted sheepskin for your home, then read on. I can just imagine that a coat from Franke is something for you too!

In any case, our sheepskins are a big hit here at home. I think the first felted sheepskin we have is very cool because it is slightly different than usual. There is black felt underneath that comes out a bit on the sides. In addition, the sheep curls are not equally thick everywhere. The sheepskin has a slightly different look than a standard fur, a little more design. You could also very well use this as a wall hanging. But with us it is on the floor and our pets are very happy with it. And after seeing their interest I decided to buy another sheepskin.
Ca$h (our Kooikerhondje) and our 3 cats are fighting for a spot on this lovely rug, they are completely wild about it. Unfortunately together on the rug is not an option, because the dog and the cats don't like each other that much, haha. They tolerate each other, but that's about it. So in the end I was happy that Franke could find me another beautiful coat that she made such a beautiful rug out of. This way they all have their own place and the ugly dog bed might just leave the house.
Well, you can felt a fur yourself, but then you have to be familiar with the material. Something with green soap and such, but I don't know more about it. Except it's a big job. You just have to be willing and able to make time for it, of course. I was once about to attend a sheepskin felting workshop, but it was canceled at the last minute. I have now reached the point where I look with love at those beautiful sheepskins. But buying suits me better than making.
There are several places where you can buy sheepskin of course. If you search the internet, you will find plenty of companies where you can go. But what I really like is that I feel like I got to know Franke a little bit on Instagram. She really makes the most beautiful sheepskin rugs that you can then buy from her. From smaller deco furs that can decorate a stool or a chair to furs that she felt together, giving you a XXXXL fur 😉 . She only does the latter on request, because this is really a huge job.
What I also really like about a sheepskin that you can buy from Franke is that they have a name. We now have 'In Nije Dei' (the one with the black felt underneath) and 'Olivia' in our house. Normally the furs get the name of the sheep they are made of.
Franke has very nice sheepskins for sale. But no website. So if you want to buy a felted sheepskin from her, you should definitely check out her account on Instagram. And also if you just want to be inspired. There is plenty of inspiration on her account, and also very nice stories that she shares about the cuties who 'grow' the furs for her. Some of the sheep Franke felt her furs come from are from Texel, but I think she has sheepskins from all over the Netherlands. With story (as above for example). And that gives the sheepskin you get that little bit extra.

As far as I'm concerned, the choice for a real sheepskin to buy is made quickly. But of course I can't look in your wallet. All I can tell you is that if you would like a real sheepskin, just send a DM to Franke. I didn't think my sheepskins were much more expensive than you pay for some fakes. And they have so much more charisma. I don't like a fake sheepskin on the couch, but buy such a beautiful sheepskin with real curls and put it on your couch? I say go for it.
In addition, the sheepskins give off a wonderful warmth. Also very nice to put them outside on your garden bench, for example, so that you stay nice and warm when you sit outside. Together with your Stoov pillow, you can create a wonderfully cozy spot under your canopy. Great during the colder evenings.
