Soon you will receive friends on your balcony or in the garden. To resist nicely to the whims of the wind and keep a tight tablecloth, I realized, for you and at a lower cost, hanging pebbles.
Follow me, I'll explain how to make it in less than 1/2 hour!
- small smooth pebbles and regular (or funny) shape:50 g minimum is a good compromise (weigh with your kitchen scale).
- paint acrylic and/or multi-surface decoration markers.
- 2 or 3 brushes ranging from n° 2 to n° 10.
- logs to protect the table.
- dishcloth clips (in supermarket). 1 per painted pebble.
- Super-Glu type glue
1. Wash and dry the pebbles.
2. Cover the entire surface of the pebbles with paint, top and bottom, but if you use paint, let it dry before doing the other side. This drying step can be bypassed if you use multi-surface decoration markers from Giotto (Amazon link) like I do.
3. Let it dry.
4. Draw the pattern of your choice or that of the theme of your reception:flowers (simple and airy, the mimosa is very nice to make), sea, animals, landscapes, fruits, etc.
5. Glue the plastic tie of the tea towel clip to the back of the roller:good support is ensured over a fairly large surface. Hold for a few moments so that it adheres.
Your tablecloth weights can be varnished . Prefer a spray varnish:the result is more even and you won't run the risk of making your drawing "bleed" with a brushstroke.
I made a whole series of pebbles to stretch my tablecloths of unparalleled elegance. Given their cost price, I matched them to the colors or themes of all my tablecloths! I also use them for my children's birthday parties. And you, what do you think of these hanging pebbles? I'm counting on you to write a comment here because I'm always happy to discover the little pleasures of our readers!
4 tablecloth weights cost around €15.
I didn't buy anything other than 6 tea towel clips for €1.75 (for 6 painted pebbles).
My saving is therefore €13.25 per set of 6 tablecloth pebbles!
