It's time to redo your planters, balcony boxes and other flower pots. Success depends above all on the potting soil used.
Fire it! Throw it! Do not reuse it!
The soil in your planters that was used last year is a breeding ground for diseases, insects and other little jokes that could harm your future plantings.
First, you empty and disinfect your containers with white vinegar. In order to promote the evacuation of water, it is good to put in the bottom of the container a bed of gravel or clay balls or even pozzolan, 2 to 5 cm thick.
It remains to choose the soil (or growing medium, which is a more appropriate name).
In general, it is better to choose top-of-the-range, planting soil or planters, or even geraniums. Add clay ball to make the whole thing more airy. Also add an organic fertilizer. Even enriched potting soils are not enough to feed your plants for very long. Choose a complete organic fertilizer.
Finally, do not forget to fertilize your plants regularly throughout the year. The irrigation water tends to leach the substrate. But be careful, nitrogen fertilizers should no longer be used when the plants are in flower. Indeed, an excess of nitrogen and flowering stops. And in any case, do not force the dose.
And for a successful planting, buy the plants with the fewest flowers, (beginning of flowering, or flowers removed at planting) this will guarantee better rooting.
All you have to do is put the photos of your works on the net…
A large container with suitable soil is a guarantee of success
