I really love home accessories. I prefer black home accessories, mixed with white, cream, gray and rattan or oak. So it's no wonder that I ended up at webshop de Woonkant van Melissa when I was looking for some cool new home decoration for my living room and kitchen.

Even though we are still going to renovate… if I have something in my head, it's not in my ass. My parents used to say something like that to me 😉 . And I must say there is some truth in it. I can wait with some things though. It's not that I 'must' have everything right away, but I can drown in the ideas. Do you recognize that?
When looking for all kinds of nice home accessories or inspiration for MamsatWork, black or not, I always get new ideas about renovations. And even though we still have to start the major renovation in the house (we start in 2 weeks, yeah!) I can still get all kinds of ideas about other spaces that I want to work out in detail. Weird, I know, but that's just how I am. Secretly I think it drives Frank crazy, but that sweetheart doesn't show it, haha.
Well, in all my ideas about the upcoming renovation I would like to work with black (for example in steel), gray (for example concrete) and wood (such as our cupboard, coffee table and wooden wall decoration). But I also like to add white and cream for a fresh hue. And actually I really like pastel shades. But hey, nobody says I can't combine my black home accessories with pastel shades. Or, if necessary, alternate, that's also possible!
So I came across the Woonkant when I was looking for black home accessories and I fell completely in love with all the home decoration she has. Not so strange, because she actually has everything in exactly the style I'm looking for. The funny thing is that Melissa started that webshop from her own passion for styling her home. As a result of the renovation of her own house, by the way… as long as that isn't a harbinger for myself. From beautiful jute baskets to nice candlesticks and from beautiful lighting to kitchen accessories, you can shop everything there.
In our case I have already started from the 'pictures' I have in my head about all the adjustments we are going to make and the colors that will be reflected in them. But of course you can also make a mood board. There will be a steel door in the house, so I can combine the black home accessories with it. And on our black piano I like to work with something white or cream, for example. Especially because I want to make the wall behind the piano concrete gray with the Marakech Wall technique. Or maybe there will be wood after all, I'm not sure yet.
Our concrete-look cabinet with oak doors, for example, fits very beautiful black home accessories combined with wood or rattan decoration. Or this beautiful seagrass basket that serves to store all phone and iPad chargers. Ideal thing! Melissa herself has this basket in the bathroom, as you can see below, also cool. Very handy for, for example, your washable cotton pads!

On our dining table, which I treated with concrete ciré, I again opt for wooden home accessories, sometimes combined with black, other times with pastel shades. And of course with fresh flowers from Bloemenvandeteler!
This way I can rummage around (we call it furniture in Brabant) and keep moving something every time. By the way, I used to laugh at my mom when she did that, and now I'm doing the exact same thing!
A style that you also see a lot is combining black and gold home accessories. I also think it's beautiful, but I'm a little less into the glitter and glamor that gold gives. I prefer it a little more sober. Although I do have a few golden accessories like this golden monkey candlestick. Baby huh? I actually never have a candle in it, I think now, haha. You can also see in this photo above that I have combined the colors black and gray, with a little touch of gold.
And what do you think of the lamp hanging above? Nice and cool with that pulley and yet also 'soft' because of the yarn around the cable. That cord is very nicely concealed. Now the place for this lamp is not yet final and the wall behind it will still be nicely plastered in white, so the picture will soon be completely different. Below you can see some beautiful photos of this handsome man in an industrial interior. Both images are from the Woonkant, what a picture!

Are you also into black home accessories or not at all?
