Looking for a great outdoor activity for the winter?
Something easy to do that your kids will love?
Here is the idea for you! Make paint to draw on the snow.
All you need is food coloring and water.
It's a great excuse to take the kids out when it's cold.
My kids love this game and just as much love helping me get the colors ready.
And don't worry, it's really easy to do . Watch:

I know what you are going to say. Making paint to paint on snow seems super complicated.
But in fact, it's quite simple!
It's really just water and food coloring.
And it's super fun. I even think I had more fun than my daughter!
First, I bought these 6 small plastic water bottles for a few euros.
I was looking for plastic squeezable bottles, you see like the ones you put ketchup in.
But in the end the small water bottles were much cheaper.
And I also think we can reuse them for a picnic one day.
I think what my daughter liked the most was the food coloring.
She helped me a lot by counting the drops to put in each cup.
Plus, it's a great way for kids to learn how to mix colors to get new ones.
To make the red, blue, yellow and green, I put 8 drops of dye in each of the bottles filled with water.
To make the orange, you need 7 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red.
My purple turned out to be too dark. I used 5 drops of red and 3 drops of blue. But next time I'll put less blue.
We then took our paint bottles and went out into the garden.
We had a great time! It looked like a color bomb had exploded in the garden but it was totally worth it :-)
Of course, the ground does not risk much!
To paint on snow, simply squeeze the bottle pointing it down.
So it's easier to paint when you're on your knees.
I am not Picasso but… here is my work!
And here is my daughter's work :-)
This activity entertained us at least 30 min inside and more than 1 hour outside.
We could have stayed outside longer but the miss's little fingers were turning purple from the cold.
It's a fantastic winter activity and I'll definitely do it again :-)
