Leftover foam packaging or old foam containers.
chicken wire
work gloves

staples and hammer or staple gun
Concrete mix (fine instead of coarse)
plastic container for mixing concrete
Water
plastic or rubber gloves
Plastic spatula to spread concrete.
1. Separate the pieces of packing foam with a serrated knife and/or glue the foam sections together to obtain the desired shape for the container. Carve drainage holes in the bottom of the container.
2. Cover the foam container with chicken wire, this will give the concrete a surface to adhere to. Use staples to fasten the chicken wire anywhere it sticks out of the foam.
3. Following the manufacturer's instructions, mix the concrete to the consistency of cookie dough. If desired, add concrete stain to the mix for a tinted look.
4. Wearing plastic or rubber gloves, cover all sides of the container completely with concrete.
5. Let container dry, then seal, paint and plant.
