Are your plastic planters and flower pots all dirty?
It's normal ! Over time, lime deposits, grime and black marks settle on it.
Fortunately, there is an easy trick to refurbish your plastic flower pots in the blink of an eye.
Very practical when you want to reuse old planters for the new season.
The trick to cleaning and disinfecting them is to use Marseille soap and white vinegar . Watch:
- 1 tablespoon of liquid Marseille soap
- 50 ml of white vinegar
- damp sponge
- 250 ml lukewarm water
- 1 basin
- cloth
1. Pour the water into the basin.
2. Add the Marseille soap and mix.
3. Dip the sponge in the mixture and wring it out.
4. Rub the planters with this mixture.
5. Insist on the dirtiest parts and stains.
6. Once clean, put white vinegar on your sponge.
7. Swipe the entire planter inside and out.
8. Rinse with clear water and dry with a clean cloth.
And There you go ! Your plastic planters are now spotless :-)
Easy, fast and natural, right?
No more gray marks on the planters that ruin everything.
And that, inside and outside the pot!
Once well rinsed, they are ready to be filled with soil again:they are like new.
And it works on planters and balconies of all colors:white, ecru, black, gray or green.
This natural cleaning can be done twice a year:in the spring and in the fall when the planters are emptied.
Marseille soap is a gentle, natural cleanser that gets rid of most stains.
It also makes it possible to sanitize a pot which could have been in contact with a disease or a fungus which contaminates the flowers.
And of course, this technique is not dangerous for plants. Just remember to rinse the washed pot well.
As for white vinegar, it has the power to disinfect planters in depth without using bleach.

Clean the jar with the recipe above, then apply a coat of water-resistant acrylic latex paint.
You still have to stay within the same color range:dark-colored plastic will stand out under light paint.
