Look in thrift stores to find a variety of teacups and saucers.
Punch a hole in the bottom of the teacup. This will allow water to drain. To do this, place a small piece of wood under the base of the teacup, making sure that the cup rests on the wood. Wear a tungsten tipped drill bit and safety glasses when drilling. Ceramic and porcelain can break easily, so use a slow drilling speed and very little pressure.
Fill the bottom of the teacup with small rocks.
Place your plant and soil in the cup. Place the cup on top of the saucer to collect excess water.
