We found an old office chair at a thrift store. After cleaning it up, we removed the legs and added pads to the bottom so the chair would sit on the floor. We then made a machine washable cover and personalized it with the owner's name. This project requires no power tools and costs very little money.
Remove the metal legs from the chair.
To make the chair stable and to protect your floor, add furniture pads to the bottom of the chair. If they are not self-adhesive, fix them with hot glue. Place the largest pads in the four corners and the four smaller ones (two on top of each other) towards the front to prevent the chair from tipping.
Flip the chair over and place a blanket on it; Start cutting the pieces to make the cover. Start with the back and sides, save the trim for later. Be sure to leave extra room when cutting, as it's easier to cut the extra fabric later.
Pin the pieces together and use embroidery floss to join the pieces together. We use a criss-cross pattern to get a rustic look.
Sew two loops on the back to gather the back fabric to make a bow.
On the felt, draw and cut out letters to spell your pet's name. Use a hot glue gun to adhere the letters to the sleeve. Make sure you get all the edges.

Tuck the bottom of the cover under the chair, if necessary; use hook and loop tape on the bottom of the chair to hold the cover in place.
