The problem also arises in plastic composters that have no bottom. It is therefore necessary to make one with rigid mesh with small meshes (1 cm side).
The bottom of the composter does not need to be in direct contact with the ground.
I recommend placing the composter on slabs two cm thick and spaced two cm apart. The slabs being leveled, the composter will be stable. This has the effect of avoiding that the thrusts in the corners end up getting the better of the composter, especially when it is square.
The mesh is placed flat on the slabs and the composter on top. The meshes of the fence allow insects, worms and other small bugs to pass through, and keep rodents out. You still have to use wire mesh...
