The Besta cabinet is now an indispensable part of the interior of many. Besides the fact that Ikea has simply designed a nice cabinet with the Besta line, it can also be pimped and used in your interior in many ways. It is therefore completely embraced by interior enthusiasts, because pimping an Ikea cabinet is completely contemporary. For not too much money you have a nice piece of furniture in your living room which you can also style according to your own idea.

I was inspired by a Facebook post by Samantha Brouns Franzen in which she shows how she and her husband have combined the Besta cabinet as a TV cabinet and display cabinet. By the way, she not only inspired me, but also a lot of readers of that post who are now getting started. Nice to see. I asked Samantha if she would like me to dedicate an article to her way of styling the Ikea Besta cabinet and luckily she said yes 😉 .
The Besta cabinet is available in many different versions. And not only the models you see on the website are available in this way, but you can also vary endlessly with other doors, different color intermediate compartments and, for example, such a cool shelf on your Besta cabinet that you currently see everywhere. In this way you create a unique cupboard for your home, after which you can take care of the decoration on your cupboard in your own way.
What Samantha has done very cleverly is initially sketching a design for her own living room. See which models of the Besta cabinet suit your design and incorporate them into your own design. For example, place the TV cabinet from Besta next to the storage combination with glass doors. And especially look at the possibilities in your space.
In the design, for example, Samantha has fully incorporated the fireplace mantelpiece (which has yet to be made) into the design. What she has done very nicely is that she did not immediately put the Besta cupboard with glass doors tightly against the fireplace, but that she left some space here. At the bottom of the combination, this is filled with part of the Besta TV furniture, which continues as normal.
In the photo above you can clearly see how the Besta TV furniture extends to the cabinet and how the fireplace is incorporated. This of course requires some skill and Samantha her husband came in handy 😉 . The low part consists of two Besta TV furniture next to each other, with no cupboard door being placed for the part that comes right in front of the fireplace, but wooden blocks are placed for decorative purposes. The cupboards on either side of the fireplace are both still usable for half. You might think that this TV cabinet from Besta is not actually used to the fullest, and that is natural in terms of cabinet space. But by using this TV furniture, the total designed combination becomes a beautiful picture!
Besta's design planner works great. I just tried it myself and made the best designs in no time. For example, vary with individual parts to create a varied and unique piece of furniture. Samantha chose to make the middle part in the display case from a base element of glazed oak. Below and above are the 'standard' white basic elements of the Besta cabinet. This creates a beautiful style that fits perfectly in a Scandinavian living style.
What really completes the whole thing is the wooden plank that is made on the Besta TV cabinet. This one comes from the Praxis. You can have such a plank sawn to size, but you can also buy a standard size that you can then customize yourself.
Tip 1:If you buy a full oak wooden board, treat it with Skylt original lacquer. This is colorless lacquer that does not darken your wood, but does protect it.
Tip 2:Nice and affordable accessories for on and in your closet can be found at the Xenos and the Hema!
