Halloween decoration; the best tips for beautiful decoration

Just a little while longer and Halloween will break loose again. The biggest horror party of the year is becoming an ever bigger happening and to be honest I look forward to it every year. It started a few years ago with a little bit of attention to Halloween in our house, but I see so many cute Halloween decorations these days that I'm considering going all out this year. Not only with my own Halloween crafts (also very nice) but also with the Halloween decorations from the Hema that I saw.

Halloween decoration at its best (indoor and outdoor)

With Halloween decoration you can think of very exciting things, such as creepy spiders, lots of blood and scary faces and masks, but this Halloween decoration also proves that it can be done differently. Decorate your house with beautiful Halloween items that are very refined as decoration. Take a look below!

1. Halloween decoration at the Hema; Dia de los Muertos

Hema was inspired for its collection at the Mexican party Dia de los Muertos. Loosely translated:the day of the dead. This festival is closely related to Halloween because of the skulls. During this feast, the dead are honored with joy. Many colorful skulls return in this theme, as you also see in the cartoon Coco.

Would you like to decorate and furnish your house for Halloween in a fun way, then this collection might be something for you. In this collection you will find all kinds of Halloween decorations such as balloons, streamers, plates, cups and so on.

In addition to the beautiful skull theme, there is also the decoration in the well-known Halloween colors black and orange of course. Nice to -if you have a small party- to use the plates and cups with the nice paper straws that make it complete. And of course such a spiders, bats and pumpkins Halloween garland should not be missing from the decoration in your home.

Which one of you celebrates Halloween at home too?

Are you also celebrating this party flown over from America? Whether your kids go door-to-door or not, you can of course bring the atmosphere of autumn and Halloween into your home anyway… If you dare 😉 . Below you can read a great DIY idea to make your own Halloween decoration yourself. So get the kids together and go on a pumpkin hunt. Because a Halloween decoration is of course not possible without a pumpkin. Together with my daughter I made pumpkin flower pots. Do you have a great idea for a nice DIY Halloween Decoration?

To bring the atmosphere of Halloween into your home, you can make it cozy in advance with pumpkins. Of course there is more and more for Halloween in the shops these days, but it is oh so nice to spend an afternoon with your kids. Now I'm not much of a tinkerer myself, but when it comes to plants and standing with my feet (read:hands) in the mud (read:soil) (read:eating), I'm happy to participate.

On to the pumpkin-farmer

The choice was quickly made. We are going to use pumpkins to put plants in. First, visit the farm to get some pumpkins for a small amount that can be hollowed out. That alone is fun. I love farmers who put their businesses up for sale along the road. Not on the farmers, but on the businesses. Comes with a money box where you can make your own donation. They are confident that if you take something with you, you also neatly put your money in that container. This way you can sniff around at your leisure without anyone looking at your fingers and they don't always have to be home before you can go. It gives a cozy feeling and is exactly what gets you in the mood for a creative afternoon with your daughter.

Make pumpkin-flowerpots to decorate for Halloween

When we get home, a large plastic tablecloth is immediately placed over the kitchen table and we start. What do you need?

  • pumpkins, from large to small, everything can be used
  • potting soil
  • plants
  • potato peeler
  • spoon
  • plastic bags

For the larger pumpkins I use larger plants myself, but you can also put a few small ones together. Carving the pumpkin is done like this:you cut the top half with the stem of the pumpkin with the potato knife and spoon the pumpkin empty. Then you put the plastic bag in it (I use pedal bin bags for that) and you partially fill it with potting soil. Add a plant, add some more potting soil, and you're done! This way you will have a nice collection of pumpkins together in no time.

Halloween is also becoming increasingly well-known and 'celebrated' in our country. The name "Halloween" is derived from Hallow-e'en , aka All Hallows Eve (All Saints' Eve), the evening before All Saints' Day, November 1. Besides the fact that Halloween is sometimes experienced as 'frightening' and 'exciting', it is also a party with goodies and a lot of atmosphere around it. On October 31, children dress up and then, after dark, ring the bell at nearby houses decorated with pumpkins and lights. Then they yell trick or treat , where the choice is given between playing a tease or getting something tasty (usually candy). The residents of the house where the doorbell rang then give the children candies.
