My friends think I'm crazy, but I've had my eye on it for quite a few months, this monkey lamp from Seletti. Not only our friends by the way, but also Frank had to get used to my Monkey, haha. But now it hangs proudly in our living room and the whole family comes to appreciate it more and more. And I like to take you along little by little in our choices in terms of interior!

There are two things in the interior that I generally find very difficult to determine. Those are lamps and 'something' for the wall. That is why I am going to make some lamps myself and browse the internet for ideas. Because tastes can differ! And I can like a lot of paintings or design lamps that I see, but not for myself. Or I think they are way too expensive, that's also possible. But this monkey lamp, I immediately fell in love with it when I saw it somewhere months ago. And despite the fact that it is a flashy, striking lamp -and not exactly cheap either- I immediately knew… I would like to have it in the new house!
Furthermore, my taste in interior can often change. I like a lot of different styles. I like cool, sober and retro in the interior, but I also find lots of light, bamboo and romantic colors (in combination with velour) very nice to look at and sit in. Since I spend quite a bit of time on Pinterest, while browsing the internet via via (you probably know that… click-click-click and you're so many websites further) I came across Flinders' account. And then my eye fell again on the raven lamp and of course also on the monkey lamp.
You will soon find all kinds of styles at our house. In the bedroom, for example, I'm going to focus on romantic, light, white, bamboo and green. And in the living room I prefer to combine industrial with a bit of rustic cool and retro. So that our retro record player fits well. Despite the fact that a lot still needs to be refurbished, I do try to make choices that are focused on the future with accessories, new furniture and, for example, this new monkey lamp.
In our old house we had old factory lamps with a Scandinavian touch hanging and standing. A large standing lamp and two hanging lamps. It no longer fits in our new living room. The two hanging lamps have therefore been moved to the bedroom, and they look beautiful there (photos to follow).
The living room needed some new lighting and in the end I was able to persuade Frank to order the Seletti lamp in monkey and raven variant!
The great thing about these lamps is that they can be used indoors and outdoors. They are made of resin and black in color.
So it fits perfectly with the industrial look I have in mind for our living room. I was specifically looking for a lamp that can hang in the corner of the living room and the monkey lamp is very suitable for that. It not only provides beautiful light, but as far as I am concerned it is also a work of art in itself! And very easy to attach, because it hangs on one screw, with his hand.
It has an extremely long cord, which we don't need indoors, but if you want to hang the lamp outside, that can be ideal.
Easy peasy. The lamp is also very neatly packed, but that is an aside. After unpacking it is a matter of turning the light in, plug in the socket and burn it! We have switched the monkey lamp and the raven on our system to which all our lamps are connected. Part goes via Fibaro (plugs) and part via Mi Light, so that all lamps switch on and off automatically at the time that has been set, and we can also switch them on and off via an app. Very handy!
