How strange can it all be! Three months ago, Frank and I said to each other that we would continue to live where we live. We have now bought another house and are moving in a few months. That is why I went looking for inspiration for an industrial TV cabinet… because the cabinet that is now being made especially for the TV will not fit in our new house…

I'll tell you briefly how it is. Four months ago we commissioned a furniture maker to make a new cabinet for our (old) house. With the idea that we will continue to live here for years to come, I really wanted an industrial TV cabinet in the living room, or rather:an industrial cabinet. And so it happened. Almost then 😉 .
We made the design of our new cabinet ourselves. A concrete look cabinet would be made over the entire width of the wall, from top to bottom, with oak wooden doors in it. And tough, wide legs. I've had something like this in my head for years and now it's going to happen. A large cupboard where the TV can also be placed. In a tough, industrial look. A piece of furniture that you can use for the rest of your life. At least if you're not going to move.
The furniture maker started making the TV cabinet in January. Three weeks later we decide to move. How strange it can all be. Since we were seriously interested in the new house, I immediately called the furniture maker. The cabinet was almost ready, see above. We have now only postponed assembling the cabinet, the cabinet itself is still at his location for a while. Fortunately, our industrial TV furniture can be transformed into a beautiful new cabinet with some minor adjustments that we should be able to use in our new home, although we still have to figure that out.
If you have any tips regarding our self-designed cabinet, I'd love to hear them too. The part where the TV is now drawn in will soon be completely open…. I think it would be useful to do something with this as well. Planks in it or something?
I will then no longer have an industrial TV furniture, because the place where the TV will hang in our new house, this cabinet certainly does not fit 😉 . So I have to look for something new! And I don't mind that at all, haha.
So I'm scouring the internet and pinterest looking for a nice industrial TV furniture that isn't too bulky. Especially because the other cabinet we had made is fairly heavy, I would like to make the TV cabinet look a bit lighter.
I think the above TV furniture is cool anyway. Because it is completely open, it looks a bit less heavy than our new cabinet. The only downside might be that there's quite a bit of dust accumulating in the base, don't you think? This TV cabinet and more
Industrial TV furniture can be found at Robuuste Tafels.
I think this one is crazy too. It may look a bit heavy because of the solid wooden beam that is used, but because of its simplicity I also think it is very beautiful. You can't say much on it, but that also gives me peace of mind.
A beautiful concrete TV cabinet also gives a very industrial look, of course. This one stands on legs, but I would also find it very nice mounted on the wall. In such a way that you can vacuum underneath it, for example? I just wonder if that won't be too heavy, does anyone know?
The bottom one is still on the ground, but it is also really industrial. Cleaning underneath has to be done with a mop or something, I think.
I also found a DIY for refurbishing an existing TV furniture in concrete look. Maybe that's something else.
This TV cabinet is made to measure again, as it also combines with the fireplace. This is not possible with us, because we will soon have a separate wood-burning stove. Easy to clean like that!
The wood of this TV cabinet is just a bit too smooth for me, but it does look industrial with the legs underneath. Maybe with a slightly different wooden top on it, then I'll see it in our room. Found on Pinterest if you search for 'industrial TV furniture diy'.
I find a hanging TV furniture very useful in connection with cleaning. I'm not much of a cleaner, so if I can mop the floor quickly and easily, that makes me happy. On the other hand, you can no longer vary with hanging furniture, of course. If it hangs, it hangs and you can't change it. Frank can already see me coming 😉 .
What would you do, which industrial TV furniture do you think is the most beautiful and hanging or standing? Let me know!
