Those who have been following me for a while know that I do like a glass of wine. And even though I try to leave the wine on during the week these days, I enjoy it no less on the weekend. In fact, I think I just enjoy the wine even more these days. But with 'all those' wines in the house, storing them left something to be desired. Until now! Because nowadays we have a real wine pole in the house where our wines show off. I would be happy to show you what this looks like and tell you why we chose a wine pole instead of another solution.

During our renovations, besides still enjoying my wines, I am also getting closer to solutions that are permanent. Products that embellish our interior. Or products that tackle problems and create order out of chaos. And this wine pole is one of those solutions. In fact, it is a solution that highlights both sides. Firstly, the wine pole has a beautiful design that makes it a real eye-catcher and an addition to our interior. In addition, the wine pole offers the solution to my bottle problem in a simple way. It is the most trendy solution for storing your bottles of wine that also takes up relatively little space.
I had seen the wine pole before (on social media I think), but until now we were not able to give the wine pole a nice spot. Now, after the renovation of the kitchen and the living room, we have succeeded. Finally we have a place where that wine pole comes into its own and also fits perfectly.
Although I have to admit that I find the wine pole even more beautiful on some people than with us. Take a look at the Wijnpaal website or the Instagram page for all those beautiful pictures! To feast on. Below is a small teaser.
Tip:It looks best if you hang a number of the same wine bottles above each other and make 'sets' in this way. Looks nice and neat and orderly!
The appearance of this wine pole makes sure you want to put it anywhere. The design is, in my opinion, completely perfect because of its simplicity. In addition, it is handmade and that also has something I think. And another pro:it's Dutch design invented by Ruby &Mike, wine lovers with taste!
They also have several models of wine poles in their collection. I'll go through all three with you below. They have at least one thing in common. You hang the wine bottle in it by sticking the neck of the bottle through the hole. Cool right? And also the way you should actually store your wine bottles. At least the wine bottles with a cork in them. Storing it horizontally ensures that the cork does not dry out. Have they thought it through carefully!
The custom series is the most expensive variant of the wine pole that you also see above. You can get this in any desired RAL color and range from € 349.00 to € 699.00, depending on the color and type of bottle you want in it. For example, if you are a real champagne lover (and drinker), then this is also available in the format that fits champagne bottles.
The custom series is great for spraying in the same color as your kitchen, for example. Or as we have done in black so that it really gets an industrial look. I think this black wine pole looks great with the steel beams in our house and the steel doors. This wine pole also runs from floor to ceiling and gives the impression that it belongs to the furniture in your home.
The Industrial Wine Pole is made of oak wood and has room for 12 bottles of wine and costs € 199.00. Since we also have quite a few oak trees in our house, I was a bit hesitant, but personally I thought the model of the Custom series was just a bit nicer. In addition, this model is not entirely suitable for the place where we had the wine pole in mind. Our wine pole is located exactly along the passage of a doorway.
Wijnpaal's compact series is a floor model that you simply place anywhere. You can lose 6 bottles of wine in this (much too little for us of course 😉) and it is available in the colors white, black, gray, yellow and blue. You can already have this wine pole in your home for € 99.00.
Well, as far as I'm concerned I can be very brief about that. For starters, I love beautiful products and this is one you can't deny. And yes, the wine pole from the Custom series may indeed be pricey. But if you consider that it is made by hand, it is not so bad. In addition, furniture is often more expensive if you opt for a certain brand or a beautiful and sleek design.
And if you also know that there is an entrepreneur behind this who conceived, designed and made this product with love and passion? Well, then they just got it. However?
Another factor for us was the fact that we simply don't have space in the kitchen to store the wine bottles in a cupboard. And actually I like to show our wines. A good wine deserves to be seen, don't you think? In addition, I personally do not know any wine racks that I really like. They are either too heavy, or too bulky in appearance, or they can't hold enough bottles of wine. Except at this wine pole! It is elegant, practical and we can store a lot in it.
We measured and installed the wine pole ourselves. Quite exciting, because actually you are afraid that you are not doing it right. But in principle it is a cinch. How to measure the length of the wine pole is clearly explained on the Wijnpaal website. And then you will also receive the installation manual neatly in your mailbox. But actually it is very simple.
You screw the supplied block against the ceiling in the right place and then you slide the wine pole over it. Please note that you place the wine pole of the Custom series with the correct side to the wall. The wine bottles can only hang straight in the pole in one way. Do you not find it pleasant to install the wine pole yourself? You can also have it done as an extra service.
Now it is only important that we fill the wine pole with the delicious wines from our personal wine supplier. There are now a number of wines in it that come from our Vinobox wine subscription, but I prefer to hang the quality wines from our house supplier Eros. An Italian from Piedmonte who has turned his passion into his profession and imports delicious wines from his native region. And then our wine pole is also filled from top to bottom!
