Do you have dirty old books at home?
And you would like them to look like new again?
It's true that over time, books get dirty, yellow and gather dust.
Some of my books even got moldy because I left them in my cellar.
Luckily, a librarian friend told me her simple trick to refresh books without damaging them.
The trick is to put them in a paper bag with baking soda . Watch:
1. Take a paper bag that you can reseal.
2. Pour a tablespoon of baking soda into it.
3. Put the book in the paper bag.
4. Wait a week.
5. Take out the book and remove the baking soda with a soft brush.
There you go, you have easily cleaned your old book which was all dirty :-)
It works of course for books that have a cardboard cover or spine.
Consider this trick if you buy a damaged second-hand book! In addition, the musty smells of the book also disappear.
This trick also works for all objects that you cannot wash with water:postcards, old newspapers...
