Need to wash your roller shutters?
You've come to the right place!
I show you here how to do it, whatever their material:wood, aluminum, PVC.
And all this without any chemicals!
Because we must admit that dirty roller shutters do not give a good exterior impression of the house.
So, I looked for a natural and economical solution.
He's a pro blinder who gave me his simple and effective technique for cleaning and maintaining shutters.
Here is the trick to take care of the shutters of your house easily . Watch:
Contents
- 3 tablespoons of black soap
- soft sponge
- basin of lukewarm water
- cloth
1. Dilute the black soap in the basin of lukewarm water.
2. Dip the sponge in the water.
3 . Wipe the sponge over the slats of the shutters.
4. Don't forget to clean the trunk as well.
5. Rinse with clean water.
6. Dry with the clean cloth.
And There you go ! Your roller shutters are clean as on the first day :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
And it only takes a few minutes.
I advise you to clean them at least twice a year, inside and out.
But the best is to wash them at each change of season.
We often forget, but these outdoor curtains get dirty quickly.
They are in contact with pollution, bad weather and moss that can settle on them.
Over time, they can deteriorate and wear out faster than expected.
Worse, they can jam, especially if they are electric.
Maintaining them is therefore also an opportunity to check that nothing is stuck between the slats.
Also take the opportunity to remove cobwebs with a vacuum cleaner.
And as with everything, don't let dirt get in!
Above all, never use an abrasive sponge so as not to scratch the surface of the shutters.
Guess what ? Dirty shutters can detract from the beauty of your home's facade. And that would be a shame!
If you have aluminum closures, soapy water works very well to unclog them.
This is also an opportunity to clean the roller and the shutter slide.
But to make them even brighter, use lemon and baking soda.
Mix the two products, let the reaction take place and apply to the shutter slats for a few minutes.
Rinse and wipe.
In general, the wood is varnished.
It is therefore important not to damage it by cleaning the seats.
Mix a little liquid Marseille soap in hot water.
Then, soak a soft sponge with this liquid and rub it on the wooden slats.
Rinse with clear water and dry well.
Perform this operation preferably on a sunny day so that the wood dries.
But avoid a day of heat wave or frost which could cause the wood to "blow up".
Although there are products to clean PVC, they are very expensive and very chemical. Very little for me!
Especially since there is a natural and really economical method:dishwashing liquid.
Put a squirt of washing up liquid in a bucket of hot water.
Then, clean the PVC with a soft sponge dipped in soapy water.
Rinse with vinegar water and pat dry.
The plastic is like new, all white and shiny. And it also works for PVC windows.
