Are you a fan of nature walks?
But you don't have a compass to find your way around.
Don't panic!
So here's a handy tip so you don't get lost.
To find north, east, west or south without a compass , look, it's happening there!
1. Take a sewing needle, a cork and a bowl filled with water.
2. Cut a thin slice of about 5 millimeters in the cork of your cork, or if you don't have a cork, take a small tree leaf.
3. Magnetize the needle by rubbing it on a woolen fabric.
4. Tape the needle to the cork or tree leaf.
5. Gently place it in the container filled with water.
6. The needle will start to turn and will give you the north-south direction !
There you go, you now know how to spot north, east, west and south :-)
You can find where north is at home or on the go .
Be careful not to have any metal objects on you.
This disturbs the magnetism of the needle and falsifies the experiment.
So if you are lost in the forest, you just need a small paper clip or a needle, a bowl, some water and tape to find the north.
You can even find the four cardinal points without a compass (or GPS).
At the same time, if you have an iPhone, you can use the built-in compass.
It will certainly be easier;-)!
