I've been using this homemade laundry detergent recipe for over a year.

And I can tell you that it works really well :-)

Of course, it does not contain any questionable chemicals.

But in addition, it is super fast to manufacture. It only takes a few minutes to prepare.

Last little extra, this recipe is even beneficial for your washing machine because it does not clog it. Watch:

Ingredients

- 500 ml hot water

- 250 g baking soda

- 250 ml Castile soap

- 75 g of salt

- 10 drops of organic lavender essential oil

- 1 glass bottle

1. Mix the ingredients

Mix the 500 ml of hot water, baking soda and salt in a glass container. No need to buy a glass bottle! You can use an old one, for example the one containing milk, some orange juice or soups.

2. Shake the mixture

Make sure the lid is securely closed, then shake well. Be aware that the ingredients may separate when you are not using the detergent. Since there are no chemicals in this recipe, there is no binding agent. Just shake the bottle well each time before using.

3. Add Castile soap

Now add 250ml Castile soap. I like liquid soap like "Marseille soap". It exists in a scented version (rose, lavender, mint...). I like the lavender one, but you can also choose it unscented. There are also other brands of Castile soaps, like this fragrance-free and completely organic one.

4. Add essential oil

Now add 10 drops of lavender essential oil. If you don't like lavender, you can use any other you like. Or just leave the detergent neutral.

5. Pour into the glass container

I usually make one large bottle of lye, but you can also divide it into several small containers that are easy to lift. This allows you to share it in different bottles and why not flavor it differently.

How to use your homemade detergent?

For each wash, I use about 60 ml of this fabulous detergent! (Don't forget to shake it well before use).

Clothes come out super clean and smelling great! This mixture does not foam much, which is rather beneficial for your washing machine, because it does not clog it.
